I love how the main character Holden is really close with his younger sister. I'm able to relate to that because I'm really close with both my siblings and my sister just went to college. At times, I just need to pick up the phone and call her just like Holden wanted to call his little sister Phoebe. It's hard to lose someone really close to you. I've never lost a brother or sister, but I love how Holden keeps memories of his younger brother Allie in the back of his mind. And I love how he keeps Allies baseball mitt with the poems written on it.

Catcher
In the beginning, I didn't think I was going to like The Catcher in the Rye. However, as I began reading it I came to like it a lot. I love the way J.D. Salinger uses language that is not dull to read. I feel that J.D. Salinger makes it so that the reader is able to connect with the characters. He makes it so that the reader is also able to connect with him. I love the way he doesn't push things onto the girls he is with. If they say they don't want to do something he'll stop, unlike most boys. I enjoy reading Catcher in the Rye because J.D. is not afraid to let his true feelings out about how he feels about people. He is very straight forward and i love how he is so sarcastic. I'm more than half way through the book, but i keep questioning why he named the title of the book The Catcher in the Rye.

I agree, I agree, I agree, I agree!!!
I loved how we were exposed to the profanity of language that we wouldn't/couldn't typically be exposed to for school assignments. It kept me interested and wanting to read on!
I also wrote in my blog about the great relationship Holden has with Phoebe, his younger sister. It was one of the very few things Holden valued in his life.
Very good writing, you have clearly been personally touched by the novel. :)
